What if I told you that the best way to reach your goals and recover from injury isn’t through exercise but through your diet?

It’s true.  That doesn’t mean you should neglect exercise, but by prioritizing your diet and mental health you can drastically increase your performance in the gym, on the trail, in the studio, or wherever you like to exercise.  You’ll also improve performance elsewhere, if you catch my drift, and your overall quality of life will drastically improve, too.

Most fitness programmes focus on the workouts and exercises.  They focus on one-size-fits-all regimens with some modifications that work for them and people like them.  Diet and lifestyle are often secondary – if brought up at all.   The problem is that these programs don’t work for everyone and, as a result, the vast majority of people never even finish.  Or when they do, they stop exercising and their hard-earned gains are lost.  Not here.  At Rob’s Health Coaching, it’s Food Forward Fitness.  Focus on your diet and find the type of exercise that works best for you.  This isn’t a food plan to follow.  This isn’t an eat-only-spirulina-for-a-month detox either.   This is personalized approach to help you develop the habits that will allow you to optimize your diet with the resources available to you.  You’ll build healthy habits that stick with you for the rest of your life.  You’ll learn how to make the foods you love healthier and how to fit your own workouts into your lifestyle.

If you follow the programme, I guarantee that you’ll shorten your rehabilitation time, you’ll enhance your vitality, and you’ll walk taller with improved confidence and better mental health.

Man, I already track my macros.  Ain’t that enough?

It's not about macros.  It’s about micros.  It's about dietary fibre, anti-oxidants, hydration, avoiding internal inflammation, not stressing your systems, and limiting harmful additives.  Shifting towards nutrient dense, whole foods rather than foods that just fit a somewhat arbitrary macro-profile will serve you a lot better in the long run.  You’ll learn how to make that shift in a way that fits the foods available to you and how to do it in a way that is truly enjoyable.

Have you seen prices nowadays?  I can barely afford chips, never mind these expensive superfoods.

Yeah……   food prices suck nowadays, and unfortunately, due to climate change and other factors, I doubt it’s going to get any easier.   The good news is that it is possible to eat healthy on a budget.  The other part of that is that the healthier you eat, the less you’ll be spending on medical issues, and the less you spend on healthcare, the more you’ve got for healthy food.

I’m not going to push any supplements or superfoods on you, and I know time is a resource everyone is short on nowadays as well.  Together we’ll work out a healthy diet that cooperates with the resources available to you.

I don’t need anyone to tell me to drink less and eat fewer pizzas.  I know that.  I don’t want to give them up.

The old “You can lead a horse to water,” argument.  My guess is that if you’ve taken the time read this, you want to drink that water, but something is stopping you.

I’m not going to tell you to not eat pizza or drink.  God knows I like my beer and pizza is my favourite food!  Go head.  Have it.  But doing so in moderation is really damn hard.  Part of the programme is building a healthy relationship with the foods you love…. Even the “unhealthy” ones.   You don’t have to feel guilty for gorging down a whole pizza every once in a while or having a few drinks with friends.  As long as you can find a good balance between the yin and the yang of diet, and you’re moving consistently closer to your goals, you’ll be fine.  We’ll figure out ways to cut back in a healthy manor so you can still enjoy the occasional vice without it jeopardizing your health and fitness goals.

EV180 and Back in the Game aren’t diets or exercise program.  They’re sustainable lifestyle changes to help you live your best life possible.  That’s Food Forward Fitness.
